What is the process for building a custom pool with Maverick Construction?Our process includes four key phases: Discovery, Design, Construction, and Start-Up. We begin with a site visit and consultation, then create a 3D rendering of your dream pool. Once plans are approved and permits are secured, we handle the full build — from excavation to equipment setup — and finish with water balancing and homeowner training.

How long does it take to build a pool from start to finish?At Maverick, we average around 26 days from dig to swim! However, every project is unique and a good rule of thumb is that most projects may take 4–6 weeks once construction begins, depending on scope and weather. Design, permitting, and engineering typically take 2–3 weeks prior to breaking ground.

Why is it important to hire a licensed pool contractor?Hiring a licensed contractor protects you from liability and ensures your project complies with California building codes. Unlicensed builders often cut corners, may not carry proper insurance, and can expose you to costly fines or liens. Maverick Construction is fully licensed with a B (General Building) license enabling us to act as the general contractor for the project by subcontracting all work out to properly licensed subcontractors. What kind of warranty do you offer?We offer a Lifetime Structural Warranty on the gunite pool shell for the original homeowner, plus a 1-Year Workmanship Warranty on equipment installation. All equipment also comes with the manufacturer's warranty, and we’ll assist in handling those claims if needed.

Do you require payment up front?California law limits deposits to $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less. We follow this law strictly. The remainder is paid in clearly defined progress payments tied to completed stages of the build.

Who handles the permits and inspections?We take care of all permitting and coordinate directly with your city or county. We also schedule and manage all required inspections during the project.

Do you help with pool start-up and maintenance education?Yes! We include a full start-up service at no extra cost. We balance your water, provide a pool vacuum and essential maintenance tools, and walk you through how to care for your pool confidently.

What’s included in a typical custom pool project?Every project includes excavation, rebar, shotcrete shell, tile, coping, plaster, plumbing, electrical, pool equipment, basic decking (e.g., concrete patio), and pool start-up and water balance. Upgrades like spas, water features, fire bowls, or special finishes can be added during design.
